Like other parts of the world, the Father's Day was celebrated in Pakistan on June 19 (Sunday) to show their appreciation for fathers. The event has gained attention in recent years and mainly due to social media that people honour and cherish the man in their lives who plays a major role in who they become as adults. It was first originated in United States in 1910, private news channel reported.
The first Father's Day was celebrated in Spokane, Washington by a Sonora Smart Dodd, at YMCA (Young Men's Christian Association), who after hearing a sermon on Mother's Day asked pastor for a similar holiday for fathers because she had been raised by a single father of six children.
