Board of Directors (BoD) of the Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (Pesco) has asked the government departments to clear their outstanding arrears by June 30, 2016 otherwise late payment surcharge will applied against them. The offer was made in 108th meeting of Pesco BoD held at Wapda House Peshawar. Chairman BoD Pesco Malik Muhammad Asad Khan presided over the meeting. The Company Secretary presented Minutes of 107th BOD meeting which were approved after detailed discussions.
Board Members including Chief Executive, Pesco, Anwar Ul Haq Yousafzai, Colonel Jahanzeb Khan (Rtd), Colonel Alam Zeb (Retd), Syed Musawar Shah, Iftikhar Ahmad Khan, Dr AmjadUllah Khattak, Qamar Zaman, NimatUllah Abid, Chief Engineer Operation Muhammad Iqbal Marwat, Chief Engineer PMU Dr Muhammad Amjad, Director General PR Shaukat Afzal, Director General HR Muhammad Saleem Jahangir, Finance Director Yasir Naseem and Secretary Board Khurshid Ahmad attended the meeting.
They discussed in detail the current energy situation in the province and directed to give maximum relief in loadshedding to the good consumers. The meeting was told that Pesco is providing uninterrupted power supply to about 95% areas during Sehri, Iftar and Taraveeh times. During this period, electricity supply to industrial sector has been stopped to compensate domestic consumers.
The Board of Directors gave approval to the renaming and relocating of Hazara Circle-1 & Hazara Circle 2 as Abbottabad Circle and Mansehra Circle. Head Quarter of Mansehra Circle will be at Mansehra to facilitate the consumers of Mansehra and adjacent areas. The BoD also granted an approval the trifurcation of Mansehra Division for this purpose. The Abbottabad Circle will consist of Abbotabad City, Abbottabad Rural, Haripur City & Haripur Rural Divisions, while Mansehra Circle will consist of Mansehra Division-1, Mansehra Division-2 & Mansehra Rural Divisions.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman BoD, Malik Mohammad Asad Khan said that they have to improve the performance. The BoD also approved the purchase of 3509 LT PC poles, 1000 HT Steel Structures. Pesco Accounts for the period ending 31-3-2016 & O&M budget for the year 2016-17 were also approved. Chief Executive, Pesco Anwar-Ul-Haq Yousafzai gave a comprehensive Presentation to the board about Pesco performance. He vowed that he would do his best for the betterment of the company.
