The Met Office on Tuesday asked the farmers depending on tube-wells to schedule their crops irrigations ahead of the expected rainy spell. It urged that farmers should control further weeds growth at the present stages to stop any negative impact on crops. Weeds removing practices should be started soon after expected rains.
It said that mainly dry and hot weather was expected through June 30. But rain-dust storm/thunderstorm and gusty wind at isolated places in Bahawalpur, D.G Khan, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore and Gujranwala division were expected from June 21 to June 23 and then from June 25 to June 29 June.
In Sindh, very hot and dry weather is expected in its most parts with a possibility of dust-storm due to the heat. Light rainfall is likely at isolated places in Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas and Sukkur divisions from June 27 to June 29. For weather in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, it said, mainly hot and dry weather was expected in its most parts with rain-thunderstorm at a few places in Kohat, Mardan, Malakand, Hazara and Peshawar divisions over the period. Very hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of Balochistan with rain-dust storm/thunderstorm and gusty winds at isolated places in Zhob and Quetta divisions on June 24 and from June 27 to June 29. Mainly hot weather is expected in most parts of Gilgit-Baltistan with rain-thunderstorm at isolated places in Astore, Gilgit, Hunza-Nagar and Skardu. It said that widely hot weather was expected in most parts of Kashmir with rain-thunderstorm at isolated places in Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Neelum and Rawalakot.
