The City District Government and town administrations have managed to pump out rainwater in all low-lying areas of the provincial capital and the former has also been in touch with the city's weather office to keep abreast of the latest weather developments. District Co-ordination Officer Muhammad Usman monitoring the efforts on Wednesday said the rain started at 8:25am and continued for three hours non-stop.
He also said the airport recorded 81mm of rain, 44mm on the Jail Road, 64mm at Farkhabad, 68mm at Paniwala Talab, 45mm at Upper Mall, 65mm at Chowk Nakudha Misri Shah, 72mm at Wasa Head Office, 55mm at Lakshmi Chowk, 68mm at Allam Iqbal Town, 50mm at Samanabad, 45mm at Mughalpura, 45mm TajPura, 61mm at Nishter Town, 59mm Ghulshan-e-Ravi and 76mm at Johar Town.
He said he was still supervising the dewatering process in the low-lying areas and also visited the Mall Road and Lakshmi Chowk.With the Vice Chairman of the Water and Sanitation Agency, Chaudhry Shahbaz, he visited Ek Moria and Do Moria Pul, Gulberg, Nabah Road, Lower Mall, Johar Town and the airport to check the situation.
