The Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO) has sent cases of top one hundred defaulters of Rs 197 million electricity dues to the National Accountability Bureau. NAB will start arrest of these defaulters for the recovery of GEPCO dues before Eidul Fitr. This was stated by CEO GEPCO Chaudhry Muhammad Akram during a briefing with senior officers of the electricity distribution company on Wednesday.
He said a twenty four member team has been constituted headed by General Manager Operation and three Chief Engineers for the payment of outstanding electricity bills in the vast region comprising Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin and Hafizabad districts. He said these teams will monitor the recovery of defaulted amounts in each GEPCO division in the region and ensure recovery of all dues till 30th June 2016.
He said for this purpose, General Manager Operation Haroon Rashid has been assigned Narowal circle, Chief Engineer Techical Direcor Khalid Pervaiz has been assigned recovery of dues in city and cantt circle, Chief Engineer Development Tanvir-ur-Rahman Gujrat Circle and Chief Engineer Customer Services Ghazanfer Abbas Rizvi Sialkot circle.
