HRW wheat bids higher

Spot basis bids for hard red winter wheat in the southern US Plains on Tuesday were mostly steady, but firm at one location to offset the decline in futures, merchants said. K.C. July HRW wheat drifted to life of contract lows in sympathy with the selloff in other grain markets on improved weather outlook. Futures drew more pressure from the seasonal US winter wheat harvest. It was 25 percent complete, ahead of an average of analyst expectations for 23 percent, according to the US Department of Agriculture.
