Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid on Sunday visited the Khardar residence of eminent social worker Abdul Sattar Edhi and inquired about his health.
He was accompanied by Chairperson of Benazir Income Support Programme Marvi Memon and Senator Nihal Hashmi. Later, talking to the media, the minister said he had specially come here to inquire about the health of Sattar Edhi on behalf of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
Abdul Sattar Edhi, he said, had devoted his entire life to serve the humanity and set the example of simplicity, honesty and service, thus earned a good name for the country. His work was acknowledged with appreciation all over the world, he added.
Pervaiz Rashid expressed the hope that others would exemplify Abdul Sattar Edhi by working for the cause of humanity.
To a question, the minister said every Pakistani gave respect and love to Mr. Edhi and that was the biggest award.
