Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration has imposed fine of Rs 6,483,000 on shopkeepers for overcharging during its on-going crackdown against profiteers. On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, over 5,000 shops have been randomly inspected in the city so far and 3434 persons fined, said ICT spokesman Muhammad Gulfam on Sunday.
He said that senior officers of ICT Administration including Acs, MICs and special price magistrates are regularly carrying out inspections in their assigned areas/markets all over the city under the supervision of ADC(G) Captain (R) Abdul Sattar Isani, and stern action is being taken against the profiteers for overcharging.
Moreover, the rates and quality of all essential items including meat, chicken, dairy products, pulses, rice, flour etc have been enforced and regulated, he added.
