This is apropos a news item 'BD has stopped issuing visas to businessmen: Munir' carried by Business Recorder on June 28. Fazle Lohani, Head of Chancery, the Deputy High Commission for Bangladesh has clarified: "Bangladesh has not stopped issuing visas to Pakistani businessmen. There is a certain procedure for issuing visas and that procedure needs to be followed to get business visa.
"Trade between Bangladesh and Pakistan is on the rise according to data provided by FPCCI. Pakistan's export to Bangladesh from July 2015 to January 2016 was 408 million USD which is 1.08% higher than the same period of FY2014-15. This is also Pakistan's third highest export to any Asian country after China and Afghanistan. "The International Crimes Tribunal in Bangladesh has sentenced a few criminals for their crimes against humanity during the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971. They are Bangladesh nationals and not Pakistani nationals."
