UIT's BS Computer Science programme: NCEAC grants 'W' category accreditation

30 Jun, 2016

National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC), a body set up by Higher Education Commission (HEC) to accredit Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems and Bioinformatics Programmes, has granted its highest 'W' category accreditation to Usman Institute of Technology's BS Computer Science Programme.
It's a significant achievement for UIT as only 18 universities out of a total of 103 have been given this status. The award of the highest level of accreditation is a testament that the programme fully meets the NCEAC's stringent accreditation criteria and has the best available resources to execute the programme in the long run. NCEAC awards highest rating "W" with accreditation for 3 years when an academic programme meets its major criteria, whereas programme gets a rating of "X" with accreditation for two years when there are minor shortfalls and a rating of "Y" with accreditation for one year when they don't meet the major criteria. UIT is proud to have achieved this W rating for its BS Computer Science Programme.
Usman Institute of Technology is one of Pakistan's top engineering and computer science institutions offering undergraduate and graduate programmes in computer science and electrical engineering. The institution's recent affiliation with Pakistan's premier engineering institution NED University of Engineering and Technology, and its award of NCEAC's highest W category accreditation has added to its repute, making it a university of preference for engineering and computer science students nation-wide. In addition to the quality of education, UIT's comprehensive financial aid also makes UIT a top higher education destination.
