Accountability of PM critical towards ending corruption: Imran

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Thursday said that accountability of prime minister Nawaz Sharif was necessary for eliminating corruption from the country. Speaking to media persons after a ceremony for cheque distribution of royalty income received from Markhor hunting in Chitral, Imran Khan claimed that Nawaz Sharif's assets abroad proved that he was involved in corruption and money laundering.
He said that that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was in London because he cannot handle pressure after Panama Papers revelations. He accused the government of trying to save Sharif through terms of reference (TORs) of their own choice. The PTI chief said that suspects facing corruption charges should also be released from jails if the Prime Minister was not held accountable.
Imran khan said that all opposition parties agreed on one point that prime minister and his family involved in Panama leaks should be held accountable otherwise accountability against other corrupt people should be stopped. The PTI chief said Pakistan will change if there was accountability of the Prime Minister. He however said that if the opposition did not support the PTI, they would continue their campaign against the Prime Minister and if needed they would also take to streets.
