03 Jul, 2016

Pakistan People's Party (PPP) MNAs Mir Aijaz Hussain Jakharani , Imran Zafar Laghari and Shazia Marri have condemned reported discrimination against a Hindu/Dalit journalist Sahib Oad in a Nawaz government-run news agency in Karachi where he was forced to keep separate his drinking and eating utensil in the office. In a statement issued from PPP Media Cell, Sindh, the PPP MNAs termed this incident as an open form of untouchability and violation of two-nation theory and the Constitution of Pakistan which profess equality.
"There is no room for any untouchability or discrimination of any form and manifestation in Pakistan and anyone attempting to practice such inhuman social evil should be punished according to law," the MNAs added. They expressed solidarity with APP Reporter Sahib Oad and pledged to raise the issue in the National Assembly and other forums. They said that PPP has always stood for equality and pledged that they won't tolerate such approach anywhere in the country.
