A delegation of complainants in a triple murder case in Sabzi Mandi Ravi Road and traders met Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, here on Saturday, and apprised him of the details of the incident. The Chief Minister ordered immediate arrest of the three absconding accused involved in the case and said it was lamentable that they were still at large despite passage of one month.
Shehbaz Sharif further said police should have come into action immediately after the triple murder and arrest of the accused was its responsibility. He said police should have taken action on the spot against the accused involved in firing, however, an inquiry will be conducted into the laxity shown into the matter and action will be taken against the guilty persons.
The Chief Minister directed authorities concerned to submit a report within 24 hours and warned that action would be taken against the negligent officials. He further directed to constitute a committee comprising best police officers to investigate the case and said that demands of justice should be fulfilled. He said he was deeply grieved at the murder of three persons and the culprits would not be able to escape punishment, adding that justice would be ensured to the aggrieved at any cost.
Shehbaz Sharif ordered to increase security in Sabzi Mandi and said that security should also be provided to the complainants. The meeting also offered Fateha for the victims. Inspector General Police Punjab, CCPO Lahore, DIG Operations Lahore, DIG Investigation Lahore besides other police officials were present on the occasion. Those who met the CM included Haji Muhammad Afzal, Haji Shabbir Ahmed, Haji Asghar, brother of deceased Haji Maqsood, Muhammad Usman and Shoaib Afzal. It may be mentioned that 13 accused have been arrested by police whereas raids are being conducted for apprehending three absconders.
