Plan evolved for round-the-clock healthcare services during Eid holidays

The Punjab health department has evolved contingency plan for extending round the clock healthcare services to people during Eid-ul-Fitr holidays starting from July 5.
The health department has issued instructions to the Principals of autonomous medical intuitions in Punjab, Director General, Health Services Punjab, Lahore, Director Health Services, Medical Superintendents of Teachings Hospitals, Heads of Health Institutions, Executive District Officers (Health) and all medical superintendents of DHQ and THQ Hospitals in the province to provide round the clock quality and prompt healthcare services during eid holidays, sources told Business Recorder.
The health authorities have been asked to provide efficient medical cover including standby arrangements for medical, surgical or special care expected in emergency situation. They have also been directed to ensure availability of senior administrators and medical staff besides arranging emergency duty roster, emergency situation crises management plan, all life saving drugs, vaccines, disposables, linen, etc, bio-medical equipment, machines, standby generators.
They have been directed to ensure fully functional operation theatres and ambulances along with trained staff and sufficient quantity of all blood groups along with list of donors, the sources said, adding: "Directions have also been conveyed for ensuring duty of senior doctors to provide quality medical care facilities to the masses." According to the sources, surgeons, specialists, technicians, nursing staff and other health personnel would also be on call and they would not be allowed to leave the station without permission.
On the other hand, emergency ambulance, rescue and fire services of Rescue-1122 would remain operational and on high alert during Eid holidays in all districts of Punjab. The emergency plans for Eid have been finalized in all districts of the province in close coordination with district administration. All districts emergency services have finalised plans for deployment of emergency ambulance, rescue and fire services at important mosques and Eid Gahs. Rescue mobile posts of emergency paramedics would be deployed at important places of mass gatherings to provide emergency cover. Special mobile posts would also be established for providing effective medical cover to the Eid gatherings.
