05 Jul, 2016

Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) have written a letter to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) telling the institutions to remove offices belonging to Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
According to the letter, MQM established its offices in the branches of different banks for years and these offices were owned by members belonging to the party's militant wing.
It was stated in the letter that the Supreme Court (SC) also mentioned in the Karachi lawlessness case about government departments and banks involved in suspicious activities therefore necessary steps were needed to be taken in order to ensure that buildings belonging to the banks and various branches should not be used illegally.
It was mentioned in the letter that the Rangers would be at the disposal of the institutions if they faced any hindrance in removal of the MQM offices from the banks.
