The country imported gold worth $22.760 million during July-May 2015-16 that was up by 8.15% official figures say. The gold import grows to the tune of $1.716 million in July-May 2015-16 from $21.044 million in July-May 2014-15, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics says.
The gold import volume indicates a growth of 17% or 88 kilograms to 611 kg in July-May 2015-16 from 523 kilograms in July-May 2014-15. In May 2016, the gold import, however, slumped to $1.127 million from $3.215 million in May 2014, down by 65% or $2.088 million.
