Bajuar admin bans sale of toy guns

The Political Administration (PA), in Bajaur Agency has banned the sale of toy guns and firecrackers in the region and has decided to take action against people involved in its sale.
A senior local administration official in Peshawar said a decision to put a ban on sale of firecrackers and toy guns in the agency was taken during a meeting of senior officials with the Bajaur Agency Political Agent, Abdul Amir Khattak here on Monday.
The overall law and order situation in the region, and further strategy to mantain strict law and order during the upcoming Eid celebrations were also discussed in the meeting. During the meeting the Political Agent Abdul Amir Khattak PA appreciated the overall law and order situation during Ramazan in the agency, while calling for more efforts during Eid.
The PA was informed that earlier there were reports that some miscreants would attempt to disturb the law and order situation in bazaars during Ramazan, but the administration successfully foiled their designs to disrupt peace.
It was also decided that additional Levies personnel are to be deployed at all bazaars and commercial centres to provide security to Eid shoppers.
The Political Agent Bajaur during the meeting also expressed concern over the sale of toy guns and firecrackers in the region.
The administration later decided to ban the sale of toy guns and firecrackers in the agency from Monday (today). It was also decided that strict action would be taken against people who were found violating the ban on sale of toy guns and firecrackers, while levies personnel were ordered to keep vigil on persons dealing in toy gun and firecrackers to enforce the ban across Bajaur Agency during Eid festivities.
The meeting concluded with officials of the Bajaur Political Administration committing to use all means for maintaining law and order in the agency.
