PCB rubbishes claims about chairman's 'salary'

05 Jul, 2016

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made it clear that Chairman Shaharyar Khan has never taken any salary for his work after a string of claims over daily allowances he has received for the entire England tour. "For his ongoing tour of England, the expenses for his travel and stay during an annual ICC [International Cricket Council] meeting were borne by the council itself," a board spokesman said on Monday.
"While the board chairman is entitled to a daily allowance for his official work, he only charges this allowance for the days he is on business. During the current tour of England, he is scheduled to meet the Pakistan A and women's side which will qualify as official business. Therefore, it is incorrect to assume that the board will be paying the allowances for the entire duration of the tour." He also said, "Chairman Shaharyar Khan is not receiving Rs200,000 as daily allowance. The chairman doesn't have any transport at his disposal and instead he uses taxi and makes his own lodging arrangements back in England.
