Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak directed to formally announce industrial plots in Hattar industrial city, proposed Rashakai industrial city and Kohat/Karrak industrial city. He issued these directives during a presentation held at Chief Minister Secretariat, Peshawar. He said his government has set the province towards industrialization. The presentation was given by EZDMC Chairman Ghulam Dastageer Khan and Chief executive Mohsin M Sayed.
Hattar land area is 1424 acres and the sellable acres are 1001 acres. Applications received from more than 300 companies for the purchase of 910 acres against 910 acres to be sold for setting of industrial units. This will generate an expected 90 billion rupees and will give 50,000 direct jobs and 5 lac indirect jobs to the public of the province. The Hattar industrial city contribution to the GDP is expected to be Rs 600 billion per year and the generation from taxes will be more than Rs 30 billion to the national exchequer. The industrial units in Hattar will include engineering and steel, food processing, pharmaceutical, mineral and chemical processing etc.
The Rashakai industrial city will comprise 1000 acres and the sellable acres are 700 while 250 factories would be setup that will pitch in expected Rs 70 billion investments and will contribute 500 billion rupees to the GDP and Rs 25 billion in taxes. It will give a direct employment to 30,000 people and 3 lac indirect jobs. In this industrial state automotive, engineering, food and vegetable processing, pharmaceutical marble polishing and mosaic will be set up.
Kohat/Karrak industrial city will comprise 1000 acres for oil and gas sector. The oil refinery investment is rupees 300 billion while oil drilling companies and winders are 100 companies. One new airport for small airplanes and it will generate 20 thousand jobs directly and one lac indirectly. The chief minister directed for a transparent mechanism to put the whole industrial plan on ground that will lead to growth in all sectors in the province.
