PDWP approves 7 development schemes worth Rs 1.14 billion

The Punjab Provincial Development Working Party approved seven development schemes of various Development Sectors with an estimated cost of Rs 11467.458 million including widening of roads in south Punjab costing Rs 5875.051 million. These schemes were approved in the first meeting of Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) of current fiscal year 2016-17 presided over by Punjab Chairman P&D Board Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan.
Provincial Secretary P&D Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, Members of the Planning & Development Board, Provincial Secretaries concerned and other senior representatives of the relevant Provincial Departments also attended the meeting. According to spokesman for P&DD, the approved development schemes included:
1. Establishment of Cadet College Khanpur, RY Khan at the cost of Rs 544.757 million,
2. Acquisition of Land for Establishment of University of Gujrat Sub Campus, Narowal at the cost of Rs 253.993 million,
3. Renovation of Nishtar Medical College, Multan. (Revised) at the cost of Rs 311.433 million,
4. Establishment of Directorate General of Monitoring and Evaluation (Health) at the cost of Rs 333.586 million,
5. Topographic Survey and Geotechnical Studies for Land Sliding Zonation of Murree Hills Area mainly located between old Rawalpindi-Murree Road and Islamabad - Murree Expressway in Murree, Rawalpindi. (Revised PC-II) at the cost of Rs 197.246 million,
6. Umbrella PC-I Rehabilitation / Widening of 10'-12' Rural Roads under Khadam-e-Punjab Rural Roads Programme (KPRRP), Phase-II (Part-A) in Punjab Highways Department, South Zone at the cost of Rs 5875.051 million and
7. Construction of Bridge Over River Indus Near Miranpur on Linking N-55 at Arbi Tibba with Rahim Yar Khan Length=4000 RFT, District RY Khan (3rd Revised) at the cost of Rs 3951.392 million.
