Self-determination: killings won't deter Kashmiris: foreign office

Pakistan on Sunday strongly condemned the extrajudicial killings of Kashmiri leader Burhan Wani and scores of other innocent Kashmiris in the Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) terming such acts as 'deplorable and condemnable.'
"Such acts are a violation of fundamental human rights of Kashmiris and cannot deter the people of Jammu and Kashmir from their demand for the realisation of the right to self-determination," the Foreign Office said in a press release.
Pakistan also has serious concerns over the detention of Kashmiri leadership in the Indian Occupied Kashmir and called upon the Indian government to fulfil its human rights obligations as well as its commitments under the United Nations Security Council Resolutions.
"Pakistan reiterates that the resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute is only possible by the realisation of the right to self-determination of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, as per the UNSC resolutions, through a fair and impartial plebiscite under the UN auspices," it added.-PR
