Balochistan National Party (BNP) will organise a day-long seminar to discuss matters relating to Gwadar port, establishment of technical colleges and training centers for youth and marine university at Gwadar, here on Tuesday.
Ex-Chief Minister, Balochistan Sardar Akhtar Mengal will chair the seminar to be attended by intellectuals, lawyers, writers and journalists from across the country. Central General Secretary of BNP, Senator Dr Jehanzeb Jamaldini talking to APP here on Monday said, the problems being faced to fishermen, supply of clean drinking water, uninterrupted power supply, participation of local people in the investment opportunities will also be discussed.
Senator Jamaldini said, BNP was a peaceful political and democratic party and it has complete confidence in the parliament and democracy. He said, his party was in favour of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and development projects being carried out in Gwadar, adding, however, local people from Makran Division should be given employment opportunities on priority basis in the mega projects.
He demanded of the government to provide free education and health facilities besides announcement of special package giving exemption in taxes and utility bills in a bid to support poverty-stricken people of Gwadar. Senator Jamaldini said the western route of CPEC should be completed first by implementing the resolution passed by the All Parties Conference chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
He said people of the under-developed areas of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), Punjab and Balochistan should be benefited from the fruits of all components of CPEC project.
