JI urges world to protest against Bangladesh state repression

12 Jul, 2016

Deputy Chief of the Jamaat-e-Islami, Hafiz Muhammad Idrees, has said that state repression in Bangladesh had crossed all limits. He has appealed to the world conscience to openly denounce Hasina Wajid's policies in the form of executions of innocent leading Muslim scholars and leaders and the ban on Dr Zakir Naik's Peace TV was its latest manifestation.
In a statement here on Monday, he said that thousands of innocent men and women had been put to death in Bangladesh. The properties and the businesses of the peaceful JI workers and leaders were being taken over by the state with New Delhi's blessings.
Hafiz Muhammad Idrees said that none of the prominent Muslim scholars or leaders in Bangladesh supported extremism or killings and in fact, the secret agencies of India, the US, Israel and Bangladesh were behind the terrorist organisations and their activities. He said that Dhaka's ban on Dr Zakir Naik's Peace TV was another form of state repression.
