World Population Day: importance of small family highlighted

District population welfare department organised a seminar and walk to raise the awareness regarding the importance of small family on the eve of World Population Day.
A seminar was held at TMA Lyallpur Hall. DCO Salman Ghani was the chief guest, while DO Population Welfare Dr Farkhanda Almas, Physiologist Dr Imtiaz Ahmad Dogar, Pir Siddique ul Rehman and citizens of different sects were also participated in the seminar.
Speaking on the occasion, DCO Salman Ghani said balance between the population and sources was imperative for the durable development and progress. He said that the rapidly increasing population was swallowing the available resources and we should consciously follow the population welfare program to overcome the problems of education, health, employment and other social issues.
He said having a small family went a long way in guaranteeing prosperity therefore everyone should collectively strive to overcome the challenges and proactive try to curb rampant population growth. He said that the observance of World Population Day was demanding to control the population by highlighting the importance & significance of small family.
He appreciated the steps and efforts of district population welfare department & vowed for expanding the population welfare programme in the coming days. Physiologist Dr Imtiaz Dogar, Pir Siddique ul Rehman and others also spoke on the occasion and stressed upon maintaining mother & child health by following the population welfare program. They said that it was prerequisite to invest for the good health and education of the daughters for the welfare of coming generation and prosperity of the society.
