PU, Pepsi to launch food safety internship programme

Punjab University and Pepsi Cola will launch five-month Food Safety Internship Programme 2016, extendable up to 2018, for current PU students to develop food safety awareness amongst the students. In this regard MoU signing ceremony was held at PU.
PU Institute of Agricultural Sciences Director, Professor Dr Saleem Haider, Director External Linkages, Dr Maria Maldonado, Supplier Development & Commercialisation Manager, Pepsi Cola, Izhar ul Haq Awan, Supply Chain Franchise Senior Manager-North, Asad ul Azim, PU Institute of Agriculture Sciences faculty member Dr Shinawar and others were present on the occasion. The agreement aims at enhancing the professional capabilities and competency level on food safety systems by providing industry exposure to students. This programme will help bridge skill level gaps against practical knowledge. This exposure will be helpful for the students to become food safety professional for food industries and improve their employment opportunities.
