17 Jul, 2016

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that the safe recovery of barrister Awais Shah and arrest of Amjad Sabri's killers are big challenges for the government; therefore, Rangers and Police in co-ordination with other agencies have to work out these both cases. This he said while presiding over a law and order meeting here at the CM House on Saturday. The meeting was attended by provincial ministers, Syed Murad Shah, Sohail Anwar Siyal, Syed Nasir Shah and Dr Qayoom Soomro.
Director General Major General Bilal Akbar briefed the CM on targeted operation and so far progress made in the cases of Awais Shah and Amjad Sabri murder cases. IG Police Amjad Sabri told the CM that some arrests had been made in Amjad Sabri case, in which important clues to reach at the killers had been achieved.
He added that all the law enforcing agencies were working in close co-ordination for safe and sound recovery of Awais Shah. The CM directed his Special Assistant on Religious Affairs Dr Qayoom Soomro to form district peace committees in all the districts and activate them where those were already constituted. Sindh CM directed the DG Rangers and IGP to take necessary measures to work out both cases of Awais Shah and Amjad Sabri. The CM contradicted the rumours of change in Sindh cabinet.
