Heavy downpour may generate flash/urban flooding

The Meteorological department has cautioned that heavy downpour may generate flash/urban flooding and landslides in vulnerable areas of Upper KP, GB, Northeast Punjab and Kashmir today (Monday).
In its daily weather report, the Met Office has said rain-thunderstorm with isolated heavy falls is expected at a number of places in KP (Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Bannu, D I Khan divisions), Fata, Islamabad, Upper Punjab (Sargodha, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, divisions), Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, while at isolated places in south Punjab (Sahiwal, Multan, D G Khan, Bahawalpur divisions), north-east Balochistan (Zhob, Sibbi, Naseerabad divisions). Heavy downpour may generate Flash/Urban Flooding and landslides in vulnerable areas of Upper KP, GB, Northeast Punjab and Kashmir.

Rain-thunderstorm with isolated heavy falls is expected at scattered places in Kashmir, Islamabad, upper Punjab (Sargodha, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Lahore divisions), KP (Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Bannu, D I Khan divisions), Fata and Gilgit-Baltistan while at a few places in south Punjab (Sahiwal, Multan, D.G.Khan, Bahawalpur divisions), north-east Balochistan (Zhob, Sibbi, Naseerabad divisions). Heavy downpour may generate Flash/Urban Flooding and landslides in vulnerable areas of Upper KP, GB, Northeast Punjab and Kashmir.

Flood situation:
The Flood Warning Centre said here on Sunday that river Indus is in low flood at Tarbela, Jinnah, Chashma and Taunsa barrages with the water flow ranging from 3,20,000 cusecs to 2,50,000 cusecs. River Kabul is also in low flood at Nowshera with the running water of 60,000 cusecs. It said that the Sindh Irrigation department is throwing 1,06,000 cusecs fresh water of the mighty Indus downstream the Kotri barrage into the Indus delta after meeting all irrigation water needs of the Sindh farmers.
