The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Mardan division here on Monday registered the First Information Report (FIR) against unknown attackers and launched raids to nab the attackers involved in the murder of former MPA Haji Shoaib Khan of Awami National Party (ANP).
Shoaib Khan was shot dead in Yar Hussain area of Swabi district late Sunday night. District Police Office (DPO) Javed Iqbal has said that some gunmen entered Khan's political office and opened fire at the former MPA.
Khan, who sustained multiple wounds, was rushed to Peshawar's Lady Reading Hospital in critical condition where he succumbed to his wounds. "Apparently it was a target killing," DPO Iqbal said, adding, "We have registered a FIR and launched raids to nab the attackers."
