KP CM orders formation of asset management bodies

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has directed for the formation of Assets Management Committees (AMCs) within the departments and called upon the administrative secretaries to put on fast track the resource generation of the province.
He underlined the need of efficient use of the commercial assets, to make them multiplied through a transparent mechanism. There should be no delay and the process should be put on ground through futuristic approach.
He was presiding over a meeting on broadening the resource generation base of the province at CM House Peshawar today. Senior Minister for Irrigation Sikandar Sherpao, Minister for Revenue Ali Amin Gandapur, Dr Haider Ali, SMBR, Secretaries P&D, Finance, Law, Relief and Chief Executive EZDMC attended.
The Chief Minister said that his government already spelt its policy guiding principles for all public sectors entities, for resource generation and there will be strong check and balance in the whole process. The relevant department would continue to be the stakeholders of their assets. The department concerned would plan how to efficiently generate resources through the commercialisation of their assets.
The buildings on the state land should be design on modern lines, which could be used for official, commercial and residential purposes.
Pervez Khattak directed that the structure and the process should be so compact that there were no legal weaknesses and the resource generation process became of perennial nature. Department itself will plan its future course of action and would have freedom to carry out its implementation strategy by itself. This approach would reduce the ever increasing burden on financial exchequer. He directed against the wastage of time as his government was already running short of time now there should be the tern of delivery. Even in projects such as construction of buildings etc for income generation, the public private partnership was a good idea, different departments could opt for, he added.
Pervez Khattak said the only thing that should not be ignored at any level was the transparency and futuristic approach for the betterment of province. He directed to auction the plots in different housing schemes. He linked the performance of different departments with the progress on different schemes.
He directed to move a summary for different projects for approval. Such properties which have been planned by different departments for sell out or lease out, should be undertaken through proper mechanism and the process should be completed within 10 days. Land in D.I.Khan, Peshawar, Hazara, central districts could also be developed for the commercialisation to generate additional resources, he asserted.
Chief Minister said that the province had already allocated Rs 33 billion for new district council system. He said, that the government has been going all out for public welfare, with the noble intention and this should not be restricted and even the law could be amended for the purpose.
Chief Minister formed a committee comprising secretary administration, C& W and Advocate General to sit with government officers residing in Nishterabad official accommodation and accommodate them so that the project could be taken for implementation on fast track.
