Adviser to Chief Minster Sindh for Information and Archives, Moula Bux Chandio has said that Pakistan People's Party has rendered unmatched sacrifices for strengthening democracy in the country and it wanted to see democratic system flourishing in Pakistan.
Speaking to media, here on Wednesday after inspecting under-construction building of Archives department - being raised with an estimated cost of Rs 31 million within the premises of Shahbaz building - he said that working of all state entities within their constitutional parameters would not only strengthen the democratic governance but it would also earn respect for them.
"We are not afraid of martial law, the PPP stood against Zia regime for restoration of Democracy," he said, adding that it was result of sacrifices rendered by the PPP leadership and workers that democratic system was taking roots in Pakistan. On a question regarding the extension of Rangers powers, he said the matter would be resolved soon as services of Rangers and Police were commendable for elimination of terrorism and criminal activities are on decline due to the ongoing operation in Karachi. Elsewhere in the world matters of national interest were decided in consultation with party leadership and if incumbent provincial government is taking party leadership in confidence over Rangers extension it was not an extra-constitutional move, he opined.
