PSB engages Jansher's brother Mohib as coach

Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has engaged former World No 2 and elder brother of legendary Jansher Khan Mohib Ullah Khan for Squash Academy to utilise his valuable services for the promotion of squash in Pakistan.
Conferred on Presidential Pride of Performance in 1995 soon after Pakistan winning the World Team Championship in 1993 and he (Mohid Ullah Khan) acted as coach of that team, Mohib Ullah intended to service with more zeal and spirit. "I have to take responsibility as was entrusted by DG PSB Dr. Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera," said Mohib Ullah when contacted.
He said he was very thankful to Riaz Hussain Peerzada, Ijaz Ch. and Dr. Akthar Nawaz Ganjera for acknowledging his services. "I was associated with the PSB for the last 25 years. I played for the country and trained Jansher Khan. And today I got reward for all that," said Mohibullah. First the PSB named after the PSB Squash Academy as Mohib Ullah Khan Squash Academy and now they engaged me for squash soon after my retirement as Director Sports PSB," he added.
PSB Mohibullah Khan Squash Complex has two international-level glass wall courts where he and two other coaches - Pervez Ali, Shehzad Mohib and a trainer Adil Khan have been imparting training and coaching since the establishment of the Academy in way back 1996 wherein a total of 12 junior players in four different age group categories are part of the academy. These 12 players, he added, were fully supported by the PSB with regard to equipment and food. "Besides these 12 junior players, there are 60 to 70 players who get training here at the Complex on daily basis," he added.
Mohibullah was one of the leading squash players in the 1970s and World No 2 at one stage. He was the runner-up at the inaugural World Open in 1975 and at the British Open in 1976, losing on both occasions to Australia's Geoff Hunt.
Besides coaching Pakistan team comprising Jansher Khan, Jehangir Khan that won World Championship in 1993, Mohib Ullah also trained players like Nasir Iqbal, Farhan Zaman, Bilal Zakir, Sadam, and many more that went through PSB Squash Academy training and coaching. Mohibullah, said, that being the mentor of Jansher, remained as coach of present stars Farhan Mehboob, Aamir Atlas, Nasir Iqbal and lots of other kids, it hurts watching Pakistan is nowhere in top 10 in the PSA rankings and not a single Pakistani player managed to win a major title for the last two decades. "I have worked as PSB director squash at Peshawar center for the last nine years and regularly providing the deserving players rackets, kits, shoes, balls and all the related stuff free of cost and also monthly stipends to deserving kids.
