KP to set up Trade Information Office

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to set-up a Trade Information Office at the Economic Zones Development and Management Company (EZDMC) to facilitate foreign investors. This decision was taken in a follow-up meeting with a seven-member delegation of Pakistan investors from the USA which had expressed keen interest in investment opportunities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The meeting was chaired by Dr Haider Ali on behalf of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, to discuss the priority areas, modalities and mechanism for investments in the health, tourism and energy sectors of KP and finalised important decisions in this regard. The Principal Secretary to the KP Chief Minister, Mohammad Israr Khan, administrative secretaries of concerned departments, CEO Economic Zones, Chairman EZDMC and other concerned officials were also present at the meeting.
The seven-member Pakistani investor's delegation from the USA had earlier shown keen interest in investment opportunities in KP and had also assured to further convince other prospectors to invest in KP.
Dr Haider Ali highlighting the salient features of the KP industrial policy and commitment of the government to promote investments in KP said, the specified investment sectors were part of the reforms policy of the KP government which was keen on providing an ideal environment and allied facilities to foreign investors and also to boost investor confidence.
The EZDMC Chairman, Ghulam Dastagir during the meeting assured the delegation that the KP government had decided to establish a holding company to safeguard all foreign investments in the specified sectors, and all facilities including electricity, gas and water would be provided to the investors through a one-window service. He also said, the KP government would also establish an overseas investment cell with one-window services and an online facility was already available to facilitate investments. He also assured the investors that all red-tape impeding industrialisation will be removed.
The Pakistani investor's delegation from the USA on the occasion said, the incentives and facilities assured to the foreign investors in the industrial and tourism policy of the KP government is laudable and that being Pakistani's, it is their desire to contribute to Pakistan's development and progress, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
