Killings in IHK: Pakistan to sensitise multi-national companies operating in India

01 Aug, 2016

Pakistan will sensitise multinational corporations operating in India about the non-democratic and oppressive policies of the Indian government towards Kashmiris and will be asked to review their business strategies in view of human rights violation by New Delhi.
This was decided by the federal cabinet in its previous meeting held after a long time due to Prime Minister's absence from the country.
Official sources told Business Recorder that the federal cabinet also decided to write to the international community and Human Rights Groups to apprise them about the struggle of Kashmiris.
The Cabinet noted that no one had accused Pakistan of sponsoring the Kashmir movement as this was an indigenous struggle of the Kashmiris against the Indian occupation and that Pakistan should emphasize the fact that the Indian brutalities were not only against any democratic norms but would lead to extremism in the Kashmir valley. The world should take notice of these atrocities and as the people of South Sudan and East Timor were given a chance to exercise their will, India may also be impressed upon to give opportunity of self-determination to the Kashmiris.
he Cabinet was informed that the Indian government had been taken aback by the spontaneous outpouring of grief and anguish at the killing of Burhan Wani. The latest uprising proved that the movement in Kashmir was indigenous and not orchestrated from outside and the situation was likely to get worse as the Indian government was bent upon crushing it.
The Cabinet was further informed that the Indian government was pursuing a policy of grater suppression to weaken and crush the freedom movement and that it had shoot to kill policy and were firing above waist height. Even hospitals had not been spared as the Indian forces had attacked the injured, their attendants and hospital staff and ambulance.
It was decided that Pakistan should develop a narrative and consistently pursue it as part of its Kashmir strategy to highlight the peaceful struggle of Kashmiris, Foreign Office should take the lead in this regard.
The cabinet also decided that Kashmir committee should be activated to highlighted the plight of Kashmiris and sensitise the world on the burning issue. Pakistani diaspora, especially in the US and Europe may be mobilized to draw to draw attention to the Indian atrocities in Kashmir.
