168 held in crackdown against profiteers

District administration Peshawar arrested 168 shopkeepers and four quacks were arrested in a crackdown against profiteers in the city, Saddar, Hayatabad and suburban localities. On the directives of Deputy Commissioner (DC), Riaz Khan Mehsud, the Additional Assistant Commissioner (AAC), Ahmad Kamal conducted raids in Badhber and Mathani and arrested 25 profiteers while different clinics were also checked during which four quacks were also arrested.
Similarly, AAC Ahmad Kamal conducted raids in Peshawar Cantonment and arrested 32 shopkeepers, while AAC Fazilat Jehan arrested 26 persons from Turangzai, Sher Shah Complex and Mohammadzai Markets of Hayatabad and arrested 26 profiteers. Furthermore, AACs Mahmood Ahmad and Imran Khan conducted raids in Phandu, Tehkal and University Town and arrested 19 and 28 profiteers respectively.
AAC Abdul Nabi and Syed Shah Zeb carried operation against profiteers in Faqirabad and Paharipura areas and arrested 14 persons while AACs Mir Khawas Khan Wazir and Sohail Aziz also arrested 8 and 12 profiteers from Bana Mari and Hashtnagri areas respectively. The arrested profiteers will be dealt as law of the province.
