Pesco surveillance teams nab 214 more power pilferers

PESCO Surveillance Teams conducted raids different parts of the province and nabbed 214 power pilferers. According to spokesman of the company 52 electricity pilferers were caught in the areas of Khyber Circle in Tall and Hangu sub-divisions including Golden Club, Bannu Road Tall, Petrol Pump, Bangash Hotel, general store, bakeries, flour machine and crush plant.
Similarly, five power pilferers were nabbed in Bakhshali sub-division eight in Rustam eight, 35 in Gadoon sub division 35, while 8 and 6 power pilferers were nabbed City 2 and Cantt sub-divisions respectively. Furthermore, 100 power pilferers were nabbed in Madain, Batkhela and Matta sub-division. The PESCO spokesman has said that drive against illegal use of electricity and direct hooks will continue and warned power pilferers to stop power pilferage in the larger interest of the nation.
He said that power pilferages is inflicting huge financial and line losses on the company on one hand and overloading of distribution system on the other and the general public has to face power breakdowns. Meanwhile, power supply from 132 KV Wah Grid Station will remain suspended on August 2nd, 3rd and 4th due to maintenance work from 6:00 am to 1:00 pm resultantly consumers of 66 KV Haripur and Havilian grids will face inconvenience.
