LESCO chief removed

The Ministry of Water and Power has removed the Lahore Electric Supply Company chief Qaiser Zaman Tuesday for his inefficiency and alleged financial embezzlements. Meanwhile, the General Manager Technical Muhammad Anwar has been given additional charge of the LESCO chief with immediate effect.
The National Accountability Bureau has already initiated inquiry against Qaiser Zaman for embezzlement in purchase of transformers. In addition, inquiries are also underway against financial fraud in construction of grid stations. Also, he was held responsible for the electrocution of 40 linemen of the company.
It may also be noted that the State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali had visited the company and listened to the complaints of consumers.
