PM vows to end loadshedding by end of PML-N tenure

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif chaired meeting on energy projects in the country at PM House, here on Tuesday. The meeting reviewed the progress on the ongoing and future energy projects in terms of the benchmarks. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif expressed satisfaction over the pace of work on the energy projects and said the government was effectively diversifying the energy mix of the country to overcome the energy shortfall.
"We will end load-shedding from the country by the end of our tenure," the Prime Minister reiterated. "It is encouraging that all the ongoing energy projects are being executed cost-effectively," the PM observed.
The Prime Minister laid special emphasis on the progress of energy projects under the CPEC and directed for reviewing the pace of work on those projects on regular basis. The PM further directed that utmost transparency must be ensured while executing all the energy projects in the country.
"Our aim is to reduce the energy shortfall in the country that has been affecting the domestic as well as industrial consumers for several years. We are committed to provide not only sufficient electricity but also affordable electricity to the consumers enabling them to contribute in the socio-economic development of the country," expressed the PM.
Meeting was attended by Minister for Finance Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, CM Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Minister for Petroleum Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Secretary Water and Power Muhammad Younas Dagha and other senior government officials.-PR
