Five dacoits were killed and two others managed to escape in an encounter with the police. According to DPO Sahiwal, dacoits were fleeing after committing robbery in a house in the jurisdiction of Ghala Mandi Police Station when they came face to face with police. An exchange of fire between police and dacoits took place in which five dacoits were killed while two others managed to escape. Two police officials were also wounded in the encounter and were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital.
The DPO Sahiwal further said that the identity of the dead dacoits is being ascertained.
