Rains expected in southern parts

The Met Office on Wednesday forecast monsoon rains at scattered places of southern and some central parts of the country during next 2-3 days. It said that monsoon currents had started to penetrate in southern parts of the country and will produce rain / thunderstorm at scattered places of Sindh, Southern Punjab (D.G. Khan, Multan and Bahawalpur divisions), Lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (D. I. Khan and Bannu divisions) and parts of Balochistan (Zhob, Sibbi, Naseerabad and Kalat divisions) from Thursday to Saturday.
Intermittent rain is also expected in Karachi during next 3 days. Isolated heavy falls may also occur in Sindh, South Punjab, Lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan during next 2-3 days that may generate flash flooding in the vulnerable Nullahs and streams.
"Heat low lies over north Balochistan with its trough extending eastwards. Monsoon currents are penetrating in southern parts while weak monsoon currents are also penetrating in upper parts of the country," it said in its daily weather forecast. Weather outlook for next 24 hours: Rain-thunderstorm is expected at scattered places in eastern Balochistan (Zhob, Kalat, Sibbi and Naseerabad divisions), Sindh, Lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (D.I. Khan and Bannu divisions), South Punjab (Multan, Bahawalpur and D.G Khan Divisions), and while at isolated places in Upper Punjab, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA and Kashmir. Rain is also expected along Sindh-Makran coast.
Weather outlook for next 48 hours: Rain-thunderstorm with isolated heavy falls is expected at scattered places in Sindh, South Punjab (Multan, Bahawalpur and D.G Khan Divisions), Lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (D.I. Khan and Bannu divisions), and Eastern Balochistan (Zhob, Kalat, Sibbi and Naseerabad divisions). Rain-thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in Upper Punjab, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA and Kashmir.
