At least 10 people were injured when a building at the city's busy Abdullah Haroon road in Saddar area collapsed, here on Wednesday. "The two story building was constructed on a Nullah, which reduced to rubble after gas filled in base of building caused explosion," rescue sources said.
Rescue sources said that drain water gases triggered explosion which caused the building collapsed. The injured were rushed to Civil Hospital Karachi. There were six shops built in the building. However, KMC officials failed to determine legality of the structure constructed on drain till filing of this report. Rescue and law enforcement agencies rushed to the site and started rescue work. Two passers-by were also injured in the building collapse. Vehicles parked nearby were also damaged and three mobile shops were completely destroyed due to the collapse of the building.
