Alternative energy sector: investors should exploit opportunities: Khuhro

Senior provincial minister Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has said that the increasing energy demand of Pakistan could sufficiently be met through alternative energy resources such as solar and wind power and international investors should exploit opportunities in this sector.
Speaking as a chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of the 7th Edition of Industrial Electrical and Electronics Exhibition of Pakistan (IEEEP Fair 2016) at Expo Centre, here on Tuesday, he said that such type of fairs not only produced opportunities of employment but also created awareness regarding the use of electronic and electric goods. "Such exhibitions will also provide chances of progress in shape of bilateral trade contracts and relations in the field of electrical and electronics that will improve our penetrations into international market," he said.
Khuhro further said that the Sindh government encouraged growth of local industries and trade at the international level. He congratulated the IEEEP Karachi Centre and Badar Expo Solutions for organising the mega event.
He also visited different stalls alongwith Engr. Asif Siddiqui, Chairman IEEEP, Navid Ansari, Convenor Exhibition, Zohair Naseer, Chief Operating Officer Badar Expo Solutions and Syed Faisal Ali, Project Head (IEEEP Fair).
On the occasion, Chairman IEEEP, said that the country had developed its industry of electrical and electronic appliances and its projection through this fair would bode well for the emerging industry expanding its volume locally and internationally and also by creating business and job opportunities in future.
He said that being the country's premier electrical and electronics industry exhibition, the fair had local and international representation and covered the very latest technology of electrical, electronics, lighting, telecommunication, instrumentation and control, allied services, alternate energies and other related industries.
Asif Siddiqui further said that the exhibition was being organised for last seven years successfully providing investment avenues to potential international investors in the alternative energy sector and related industries.
Delegates and companies from some 20 countries are participating in the Pakistan's largest international electrical and electronic engineering fair. They include: China, Turkey, Qatar, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Australia, Austria, United Kingdom, United States of America, Belize, Switzerland, Sri Lanka, Spain, South Korea, Singapore, Poland, Malaysia, Japan, Italy, Ireland and Germany.
