A Supreme Court bench here Wednesday constituted a committee to inquire about recovery of kidnapped kids and submit report till August 25. The advocate general, Punjab is head of the committee which would submit report about the miseries of the parents. Bench had taken suo motu notice on incidents of children kidnapping. Bench observed that it was matter of grave concern as many children had not so far been recovered.
The father of child kidnapped from Rawala Kot also appeared and blamed the police for protecting the accused. The inspector general of Punjab police had submitted report that during 2011 to 2016 in Punjab 6793 children were abducted out of which 6654 had been recovered and investigation was under process on 139 cases only. The majority of kids were kidnapped from Lahore, Faisalabad, Bahwalpur and Bahawal Nagar.
