FESCO CEO explains significance of mobile meter reading

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) Rashid Ahmed paid a surprise visit to five Operation Divisions of FESCO Second Circle and directed FESCO staff to perform their duty honestly because there is no room for black sheep in FESCO and such employees would be sent out of company. He visited the Tandlianwala, Samundari, People's Colony, G.M Abad and Nazimbad Divisions and reviewed the performance of each Division.
He said that Mobile Meter Reading is a hallmark of FESCO and officers & officials have to face punishment in case of reduction in accuracy of Mobile Meter Reading. He also expressed displeasure to the Sub Divisional Officers (SDOs) who showed poor performance. New targets for recovery and line loses were also given to Executive Engineers (XENs) and SDOs.
Meanwhile, he also addressed the safety seminar at Peoples Colony, G.M Abad and Nazimabad Division and warned that strict departmental action would be initiated against officer and official who would neglect the safety. Safety of employee is top most priority of department and no excuse would be acceptable in any situation for safety of line staff, he added. He said that department is spending millions of rupees annually for the purchase of safety gadgets because protection of human life is priority of company.
Superintending Engineer 2nd Circle Chaudhry Muhammad Yaqoob, Director Commercial Abdul Qayyum, Deputy Commercial Manager Khalid Mehmood, Staff Officer Abid Rashid and Add: Director (PR) Tahir Sheikh were also present at this occasion.
Meanwhile, the FESCO has made it clear that this impression is totally false that FESCO is responsible for failure of FDA city even FESCO is striving its best efforts for provision of electricity in FDA city. The spokesman of FESCO clarified that it is completely baseless that FESCO is delaying provision of electricity in FDA city even electricity has been provided in A and F block. Spokesman further told that 2 new Grid Station of 132-KV capacity are required for FDA city and FESCO has completed feasibility reports and drawing of these Grid Stations and estimated cost of grids is about Rs 1.22 billion. FESCO would start the construction work of both Grid Stations after the payment of demand notices and required land from FDA administration. FDA has provided land for one Grid Station but payment of demand notice is still pending.
