'TDAP endeavouring to enhance capacity building of exporters'

Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) is endeavouring to enhance the capacity building of the exporters by educating them to understand the latest business global paradigms in context of international trade scenario. Director General TDAP Sher Afgan Khan stated this while addressing the participants of a seminar organised under the auspices of TDAP, Lahore on Thursday.
The DG further said it was the need of the hour that "our exporters must be aware of the Brexit's effect on the international trade and implications of Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) for Pakistan especially in perspective of the Pakistani business." Addressing the seminar, Advisor Trade & Investment, Ministry of Commerce Mujeeb Ahmed Khan highlighted the emerging trade trends being occurred at the international business markets and apprised the participants about how exporters could deal with the Brexit effect on the global trade especially in perspective of Pak-UK trade.
He also highlighted the future of the EU after Brexit. He said there persisted long period of uncertainty about the UK's position combined with future developments in other member states. The advisor also highlighted trans-pacific partnership TPP-global implications and its effect on Pakistan's trade with the US.
Mujeeb Ahmed Khan further said Pakistan's textiles had 54 percent share in Pakistan's exports, while the share of textiles in global exports was only four percent. He suggested "we need to consider mega trade and investment agreements like the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership." A large number of business community attended the seminar and appreciated TDAP efforts for imparting awareness on this important issue.
