HCCI hails appointment of new HESCO chief

President of Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Gohar Ullah and Chairman HCCI sub-committee on HESCO, Abdul Sattar Khan has welcomed the appointment of Asadullah Durrani as the Chief Executive Officer of HESCO adding that his appointment is a great success of the trade and business community of Hyderabad.
In a joint statement, they said that HCCI had lodged series of complaints to Federal Ministry of Water and Power against former HESCO chief Akhtar Ali Randhawa regarding his insulting attitude with the consumers, issuance of overbilling and detection bills as well as the blackmailing tactics with the industries, public and private offices, however due to no response from the ministry, the HCCI approached to Sindh High Court for seeking justice.
The High Court has declared the posting of Chief Executive Officer HESCO Akhtar Ali Randhawa as illegal and order the Ministry of Water and Power to appoint new HESCO chief with immediate effect, they said. While welcoming the appointment of new chief executive officer HESCO, they hoped now the consumers would get justice and relief and unannounced load shedding would also be eliminated. They assured full cooperation from HCCI to new management of HESCO in respect of the recovery of outstanding dues and overcoming the line losses.
