US Plains HRW wheat bids steady

09 Aug, 2016

Spot basis bids for hard red winter held steady across the southern US Plains on Friday, grain dealers said. Plentiful supplies allowed dealers to keep bids unchanged despite slow country movement of the grain. Farmer selling was expected to pick up in the coming weeks as growers make space in their storage bins for corn and soybeans ahead of what is expected to be a large harvest of those crops.
Protein premiums for wheat shipped to and through Kansas City fell by 5 cents for wheat with 12.2 and 12.4 percent protein. Premiums for other protein content were unchanged. As of 10:19 am CDT (1519 GMT), K.C. September HRW wheat futures were up 8 cents at $4.13-3/4 per bushel.
