12 Aug, 2016

The Pakistan Awami Tehreek will stage sit-in in 100 cities of the country on 20th August to seek justice for the Model Town incident, end of terrorism and accountability of people involved in the Panama Leaks. This was stated by Dr Tahirul Qadri, chairman of the party while talking to party leaders and journalists at his residence on Thursday.
He questioned as to why the Punjab Government was not allowing a combing operation in Punjab. Had there been a People's Party government in Punjab, a combing operation would have started many years ago, he added. He demanded that a forceful operation against terrorists and their facilitators be launched in Punjab which is the breeding ground for extremists and terrorists. PAT will not accept anything less than Qasas in the Model Town murders case.
PAT chairman claimed that those who bulldozed the National Action Plan would once again do the same as many terrorists' organisations had the backing of the Sharif family and worked as a militant wing of the PML-N. "Sharifs can never order army action against their own organisations Qadri accused that Nawaz Sharif has assigned half of his ministers to undermine the Pakistan Army. He has also given responsibility of criticising the army to the PML-N allies from the smaller provinces. The PM in his address to the National Assembly did not condemn those who spoke against the army. He had also not implemented the National Action Plan during past 17 months.
He said India should stop committing human rights violations in the occupied Kashmir. He alleged that India was supporting Nawaz government in Pakistan. Dr Tahirul Qadri expressed his heartfelt condolences on the death of cricket legend Hanif Mohammed and prayed to Almighty Allah for eternal peace of his soul and give courage to the family to bear this loss with courage.
