PCB condoles Hanif's death

The demise of cricket legend Hanif Mohammad has been widely mourned by people from cricketing world and other walks of life saying his services will always be remembered.
Chairman PCB Shaharyar Mohammad Khan, Chairman Executive Committee Najam Sethi and COO Subhan Ahmad have offered their heartfelt condolences to Hanif's son Shoaib Mohammad, on the sad demise of the legendary Little Master after protracted illness caused by cancer.
"The entire cricketing fraternity, in this country and all over the cricketing world, is in mourning over death of Hanif Mohammad. His legend shall live forever", said the PCB Chairman. "I join the bereaved family in mourning over the loss of one of the greatest cricketing heroes that this country has produced. His sublime technical skill, his unflappable temperament and his resolve and staying power at the wicket in all conditions were most remarkable and won plaudits for him and for Pakistan. "May the Almighty bless his soul", said Shaharyar Khan. Hanif was a veteran of 55 Tests and played the longest innings in Test history - his 970-minute 337 against West Indies in Bridgetown in 1957-58 still remains unsurpassed.
Najam Sethi, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Pakistan Cricket Board said: "Pakistan has lost a cricketing hero today. Hanif was a true great of the game, one of the greatest batsmen in test history and a wonderful person. He will be sadly missed."
"The entire PCB family expresses its deepest sorrow and sympathies to the bereaved family, through Hanif's eldest son Shoaib Mohammad, on the great legend's passing away.
"May the soul of the departed rest in eternal peace. The prayers and wishes of everyone at the PCB are with Shoaib Mohammad and the entire family. May Allah give them all the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss", said PCB COO Subhan Ahmad.
Former Managing Director PIA M. Nawaz Tiwana has expressed heartfelt sorrow and grief over demise of Hanif Mohammad who also served in the PIA which was the first organisation that provided jobs to sportsmen.
The Manager of the Pakistan cricket team Intikhab Alam, the Coach Mickey Arthur and Captain Misbah-ul-Haq offered their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, through Hanif Mohammad's son Shoaib Mohammad, on the death of the legendary Little Master at the age of 81. "This is a sad day for Pakistan cricket. Hanif was a great batsman, a valued team-mate and a wonderful person. He was great servant of Pakistan cricket.", Intikhab Alam said Mickey Arthur added his condolences stating: "This is very sad news. Hanif is one of the all time great cricketers. His records have stood the test of time and he was a crucial influence on Pakistan test cricket as a captain and player." "May the soul of the departed rest in eternal peace. The team's prayers are with Hanif and his family. He was a legend of the game in Pakistan and an inspiration to our current generation of cricketers. He will be sadly missed and we pay tribute to him", said Misbah-ul-Haq.
