Azadi Train resumes journey today

Azadi Train will resume its country-wide journey on Monday after two-day stay here at the Rawalpindi Station. The train will leave at 9.15 am for Gujjar Khan, the next stop on its down-country run. The train will also stay at Jhelum, Lalamusa, Mandi Bahauddin and Malakwal.
It had arrived at the Rawalpindi station on Saturday midnight from Peshawar after making stops at Attock and Nowshera stations, en-route showing glimpses of the culture of four provinces along with Federally Administered Tribal Areas, Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, besides creating awareness among the people, especially youth, about efforts and sacrifices rendered by the forefathers for the creation of Pakistan.
Thousands of people, including families, from the twin cities of Islamabad & Rawalpindi and suburban areas in large number visited the Azadi Train since its arrival at the Rawalpindi station. They took keen interest in the picture galleries and floats depicting the culture of the provinces including GB and AJK. They appreciated the Pakistan Railways officials and artists for decorating such a beautiful Azadi Train arousing the spirit and sentiments among the people about Pakistan. Families, in great number, were among the visitors.
