Kashmir issue: LHC admits petition of JuD

The Lahore High Court here Monday admitted a petition of Ameer Jamatud Dawa (JuD) for preliminary hearing. The petitioner had sought direction of the court to the federal government for taking up the Kashmir issue in the United Nations Organisation (UNO). The court rose for Tuesday (today) when the petitioner's counsel was still submitting his argues.
Ameer JuD Hafiz Saeed through his counsel A K Dogar submitted that India had been committing atrocities on Kashmiris and violating the resolutions of the UNO. The petitioner said that India was not giving right of self-determination to Kashmiris under the UN Security Council resolutions. The Indian forces had been killing innocent Kashmiri people including women and children for more than one and a half month. He therefore asked the court to direct the federal government to take up the issue of Kashmir in the Security Council.
